  • These Superfoods are Your Best Defense Against Cancer

These Superfoods are Your Best Defense Against Cancer

Another reason to love Brussels sprouts and green tea, these antioxidant-rich foods have the ability to “turn-off” cancer genes and make malignant tumors easier to treat.

According to the results, lab rats fed with these superfoods made the subjects resistant to cancer, turning malignant lumps and aggressive cancer into treatable tumors. Researchers concluded that boosting a person’s intake of Brussels sprouts and green tea decreases the risk of breast cancer significantly.

(Natural News) A new study finds that eating brussel sprouts and drinking green tea can “turn off” aggressive breast cancer genes and make tumors treatable, as reported by The Daily Mail.

The researchers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) conducted an experiment on laboratory rats with estrogen receptor (ER)-negative breast cancer. Trygve Tollefsbol and his team used epigenetics, the study of biological mechanisms that will switch genes on and off. (Related: Breast cancer cells controlled by lifestyle factors, plant nutrient combination and epigenetic changes.)

“One way we can use epigenetics as a powerful tool to fight cancer is through compounds found in our everyday diet,” Tollefsbol, study author and professor from the UAB, said in an article by Nutrition Insight.

  • Tainted Produce Leads to Massive Recall

Tainted Produce Leads to Massive Recall

Wholefoods, Walmart’s, Trader’s Joe, and other food companies have recalled foods tainted with Listeria. The recall is focused on vegetables sourced from Mann Macking of Salinas, a California-based agriculture company.

Meanwhile, Mann Packaging released a statement confirming that selected vegetable products will be recalled in certain states. According to the report, about 39 vegetable products tested positive for listeria, most of which were sold in Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois.

Six companies across the United States, including Whole Foods Market, Meijer and Albertsons, have issued dozens of food recalls since Friday, due to potential listeria contamination reported by one of the largest suppliers of fresh vegetables in the country.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that causes weakened immune systems or fatal infections in young children and frail adults, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

At issue are the many products that contain vegetables sourced from Mann Packing of Salinas, Calif. Among the biggest retail recalls, stemming from Mann Packing’s, is Meijer’s. The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based chain announced on Saturday that it is recalling 39 fresh vegetable products, such as vegetable trays, broccoli florets, asparagus spears and shareable autumn harvest salad.

  • Your Favorite Orange Juice Could Be Increasing Your Risk of Cancer

Your Favorite Orange Juice Could Be Increasing Your Risk of Cancer

Orange juice might be a healthy drink but commercial fruit juices could be tainted with carcinogenic chemicals. A new report revealed that Tropicana, along with 5 other popular fruit juice brands, contains disturbingly high levels of glyphosate.

Glyphosate is a cancer-causing compound used in agriculture chemicals. Other juice brands tainted with glyphosate are Minute Maid, Signature Farms, Kirkland, and Stater Bros.

Tropicana is one of five major brands to test positive for glyphosate according to one non-profit’s lab results.

As far as healthy drinks go, few are more popular in the United States than a glass of orange juice with breakfast. The average American consumes about 2.7 gallons of “OJ” per year, and about 2/3 of limited-service restaurants offer it as a beverage choice.

When properly made (especially fresh-squeezed and organic), orange juice can be extraordinarily healthy for a wide variety of reasons.

It’s rich in vitamin C, fiber, and contains antioxidants that help protect and nourish the skin among many other benefits.

But if you drink orange juice in the United States, you may be getting far more than you bargained for — a surprisingly high dose of one of the most controversial chemicals in the world, one that happens to be linked to cancer, and also serves as the main ingredient in Monsanto’s flagship herbicide.

And unfortunately for the many thousands of people who drink them every day, the most popular brands in the United States are among those most affected.

  • Cleansing The Lymph Nodes The Natural Way

Cleansing The Lymph Nodes The Natural Way

The lymph system, which is comprised of a network of tissues, does spread cancer all over the body among cancer survivors. Cancer survivors tend to have leftover blood covering every organ.

If the lymph system is compromised, the leftover cancer cells will start spreading and then, dispersed all over the body. The good news is, you can cleanse the lymph system to reduce the risk of cancer and free the system from toxic buildup. This report outlines natural ways to keep the lymph system healthy.

The lymph system is made of tissues and organs working together for filtering and cleaning toxic wastes inside. The body has 3 times more lymph than blood and this is the most important filtering system, so we need to know more about what damages this health system and its work.

Almost 80% of immune cells are in the gut, or GALT, gut associated lymphatic tissues. The lymph system is made from lymphocytes, or white blood cells stored in spleen, bone marrow, appendix, behind the heart and lymph nodes.

  • High Sugar Consumption Kills You On The Inside

High Sugar Consumption Kills You On The Inside

A new study found that even perfectly healthy individuals are at risk of developing heart disease if they consume high sugar foods. Researchers found that a high sugar diet is particularly devastating to the heart, regardless of a person’s health.

The findings reveal that individuals who consume more sugars have more fat in their blood compared to people who consume fewer sugars. A high sugar diet alters the body’s fat metabolism and this increases the risk of cardiovascular disease

(Natural News) New research reveals that even healthy people who consume a high-sugar diet are prone to heart disease. To reach this conclusion, researchers from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom examined two groups of men, 11 of whom had a fatty liver or also known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), while the remaining 14 were healthy. For 12 weeks, the study subjects were randomly fed one of two diets, a high-sugar diet or a low-sugar diet.

In the high-sugar diet, sugar accounted for 26 percent of total calories a day, while sugar accounted for only six percent in the low-sugar diet, which is close to the recommended intake per day. The researchers recorded the blood lipid and cholesterol levels of the study subjects at the end of the randomized cross-over study.

The findings, published in Clinical Science, showed that men with NAFLD had changes in their fat metabolism, in which they had significantly higher fat levels in their blood after consuming either the high or low-sugar diet.
